We’re about 75% through July which means here in Louisiana we’re in dangerous hot territory. The type of hot where the walk from the store to your car feels like it’s 3 miles long. No, I’m not exaggerating either. When it’s this hot out snacks that keep us cool is a must have on hand in the fridge. Or course the go to snacks for my kids are usually popsicles and ice cream. But for my husband and I we attempt to grab healthier snacks when we can. This tropical fruit salad has been a favorite of mine for a long time, but more importantly in this brutal Louisiana heat!
The base of this salad really stems from my love of tropical fruits. Particularly mangoes. Mangoes are by far my favorite fruit. I could eat them all day everyday and not get sick of them. One of my favorite memories is sitting underneath the mango trees in Belize and eating the fresh mangoes as they fell off the the tree. Talk about a dream come true! I can’t wait to return to do it again soon. This salad is called a tropical fruit salad because all of the fruit ingredients are considered tropical fruits. Pineapple, mango, kiwi, and strawberry.

And what a delicious mix it is. Here’s the very easy but delicious recipe below. Also, you don’t have to add anything to the fruit to make it delicious. However, the added honey and lime juice makes it that much more enjoyable!
