Toy Story Painted Pumpkins

October 13, 2020 Comments : 2

We’ve made it to mid October y’all! What a blessing it is to see this month especially in the craziness of this year. With Halloween night looking differently this year I’ve made sure to maintain the same level of holiday enthusiasm. Sure, trick or treating may not be it’s usual fun this year, but that doesn’t mean the rest of the Halloween fun is over. If anything we have to remain more creative than ever before. Every year the family and I paint pumpkins together while watching one of our favorite Halloween movies. In addition to those painted pumpkins I do my own themed painted pumpkins for our front porch. This year the theme is Toy Story Painted Pumpkins!

Toy Story Painted Pumpkins

I chose Toy Story 4 this year because of how much my girls loved the movie. And let’s be honest, Forky was HILARIOUS. My husband and I grew up with the Toy Story saga so it’s extra special to us that our girls now love the movies too. We were planning on doing a family Toy Story 4 costume theme this year but per usual Covid changed our plans. That doesn’t mean I couldn’t still make my fun Toy Story painted pumpkins to decorate the outside of our home. I love the way they turned out!

Just Have Fun!

There’s really no tutorial for these pumpkins because I do everything free hand. It’s something I’ve gotten better at over the years. However, this doesn’t mean you can’t do them too. I show individual close up pictures of the pumpkins below for those of you who are interested in trying to free hand paint pumpkins yourselves. You just have to take your time and trace your lines in pencil to start until you’re confident enough to go for it free hand. Feel free to leave a comment with any questions or just to let me know what you think!
