April 13, 2022 Leave a Comment

Raise your hand if you love brussel sprouts? Now raise your hand if you used to hate brussel sprouts but now you love them? If your hands were up for both of those questions then we have a lot in common. Brussel sprouts seems to be one of those vegetables people either hate or love. There tends to be no in between on indecisiveness when it comes to these little veggies. However, I challenge you to give these Sweet Chili Brussel Sprouts a try even if you don’t particularly care for Brussel sprouts. The mix of flavors bring such a unique sweet and savory taste that can surely make any vegetable taste delicious.

December 29, 2021 Leave a Comment

Not pictured: Dangerous Prayers by Craig Groeschel

Hey everybody I doubled my 2021 book goal! *Insert signature dance here* I’m super proud of this goal because it feels so good to get back into the swing of reading again. If you read my blog post about my book goal earlier this year then you remember I hit my initial 10 book goal in June. From there I kept on smooth sailing and have enjoyed every second of it.

10 Book Goal for 2021

July 13, 2021 Leave a Comment

10 book goal for 2021

Since 2018 I have set a goal to read at least 10 books a year. And since 2018 I have not reached my 10 book goal LOL. I start off so strong for the year with two to three books then life happens and next thing I know it’s a new year and I’m making the same goal. This year I promised myself I would stop making excuses and reach my 10 book goal for 2021. Not only did I accomplish this goal but I did so half way through the year. Although this may seem small to some this is a big deal to me. I absolutely love reading and getting back to what I love to do has made a big difference in other aspects of my life as well.

DIY Kids Canvas Art

diy kids canvas art

I’ve been rearranging and remodeling the girls playroom area in the extra living room area. I’ll explain more and show more details once it’s complete. I can’t wait for the reveal! In the meantime, I’ve been working on ways to add original decor to the playroom. I have added a few cute little signs but I wanted the decor to be a direct reflection of the girls. This is when I came to the conclusion to hang the DIY kids canvas art they’ve already made, and create some new ones.Read More

June 9, 2020 Leave a Comment

June is the official month of summer. Although it’s felt like summertime many days here in Louisiana the last few weeks, the first day of summer is June 20th. We’ve already had multiple days of 80 and 90 degree weather here in northern Louisiana. Which means these mango kiwi mimosas has been on my mind for a while. Read More

Whole Roasted Chicken & Veggies

April 28, 2020 Leave a Comment

May is right around the corner and depending on where you live this could mean a few things. Some people are looking out their windows to see cloudy skies and rainy days like us here in Louisiana. Others are seeing random snow days followed by spring sunshine like those in the Midwest or Rocky Mountain north. No matter where you are, or what type of weather you’re experiencing, the one food most of us can agree on for dinner is chicken. Most of us love a good, flavorful, chicken dish anytime of the day, but especially for dinner. This Whole Roasted Chicken and Veggies meal is one of my family’s favorites. The juicy chicken, tender vegetables, and beautiful presentation is the perfect combination.Read More

Crockpot Chili

crockpot chili

Happy national chili month! I know, who knew this even existed, but there’s a national day for everything and everyone these days. This is one I will celebrate proudly because it involves me eating. Ha! This homemade crockpot chili is one of my all time favorite go to recipes for my family. Especially during fall and winter. Chili is one of the crowd pleasing comfort foods you can’t ever go wrong making. There’s something about a tomato based red sauce that is hearty and filling. Not only is this easy to make but it’s a crockpot recipe. Which means we are officially back in the season of dinner cooking while we live the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives. Yes!Read More

Chicken Noodle Soup

September 23, 2019 Comments : 4

It’s officially the first day of fall and I couldn’t be happier. Fall is hands down my favorite season. What is there not to love about it? The crisp fresh air, beautiful orange, red and yellow leaves, apple cider, pumpkin spice, hoodie weather, etc. I could go on for days. Unfortunately, we live in the south so half of my fall list means absolutely nothing. (insert hysterical cryin face here) Despite the summer weather outside, one of my absolute favorite parts of this season is soup is back in full swing. My family likes to eat soup year round, but we definitely kick it up a notch once fall has arrived. One of my go to easy soups for my family is my homemade chicken noodle soup. It’s full of fresh ingredients and is seriously so easy to make.Read More

Meatballs from Scratch

September 18, 2019 Leave a Comment

meatballs from scratch

I shared a homemade spaghetti sauce recipe two weeks ago on the blog. Since then a few people have asked me if I ever make meatballs for my homemade sauce instead of breaking the meat up in the sauce. The answer is, yes! I don’t do it often for preference and time purposes in my family. However, there’s nothing like a homemade meatball and spaghetti sauce to hit the Italian comfort food spot. I’m not Italian and don’t claim to make authentic Italian meatballs, but I do make delicious meatballs from scratch that people will love. Read More
