Raise your hand if you love brussel sprouts? Now raise your hand if you used to hate brussel sprouts but now you love them? If your hands were up for both of those questions then we have a lot in common. Brussel sprouts seems to be one of those vegetables people either hate or love. There tends to be no in between on indecisiveness when it comes to these little veggies. However, I challenge you to give these Sweet Chili Brussel Sprouts a try even if you don’t particularly care for Brussel sprouts. The mix of flavors bring such a unique sweet and savory taste that can surely make any vegetable taste delicious.

Honey Roasted Garlic Brussel Sprouts

August 29, 2019 Leave a Comment

How many of you hated brussel sprouts when you were younger? *raises hand* I’m pretty sure I hated 99% of vegetables as a child. Which is funny considering how much I love 90% of vegetables as an adult. I’m not kidding when I say I made roasted brussel sprouts and mushrooms for a snack the other day. Who am I? Lol. One of my friends posted a status about her love of brussel sprouts a while ago. It dawned on me I haven’t tried brussel sprouts since I was little and I hated them. Her status convinced me to give them another try and I’m so happy I did. These honey roasted garlic brussel sprouts are currently one of my favorite veggie snacks.Read More

Baked Lemon Cod

June 26, 2019 Comments : 2

Now that it is officially summertime this means my household is enjoying lighter and healthier dinner options. We love fish here at the Jamieson household. Actually, we love seafood in general. This move to the south has been glorious to our stomachs too. One of my favorite go to fish recipes for the girls and I is this Baked Lemon Cod. My husband isn’t much of a cod fan, but that’s ok, more fish for us. Ha!Read More

pan seared salmon

This recipe is a special request for many of my readers. For months I have been asked for the Pan Seared Salmon recipe and I finally got the measurements perfect for all of you. Salmon is one of our favorite protein dishes in our household which means we always find new ways to prepare it. Although this way isn’t particularly “new” it’s a classic that never gets old.

lemon garlic asparagus

Spring is finally in the air! The weather has finally started to match the season here in Montana. This means I’ve been cooking and serving up lighter recipes and dishes for the family. This is the second green vegetable recipe I have gotten my oldest daughter to enjoy eating. I had to trick her and tell her it tastes like broccoli, but it paid off because she loved it! This lemon garlic asparagus recipe pairs perfect with my Honey Garlic Salmon. To complete the meal make a pot of rice or light whipped mashed potatoes. I promise you will love it!Read More

Where are all of my salmon lovers? Go ahead, raise your hand nice and high because I definitely am! Salmon is a favorite in my household. We’re not picky people on how the salmon is cooked either. We love to eat it baked, pan-fried, in foil packets, etc. However, this honey garlic salmon is one of our favorites because of it serves as a dinner and meal prepped dish. Read More

Food Is How I Spread Joy

February 20, 2019 Leave a Comment

Joy is defined as: “a feeling of great pleasure and happiness.” I realized the other day that food has been at the center of most joyful occasions for me. Whether it was during one of our family holiday parties, celebrating a birthday, or just a casual Friday evening, food remained a constant at all of it.

When I moved into my apartment in college I knew I enjoyed cooking, but it was quite far down on the priority list of college classes, work, and social life. Once I moved to Montana to be with my then boyfriend (now husband) I quickly realized how much I not only liked eating food, but how much I loved cooking it. Fast forward to present day and I look forward to creating my own delicious recipes week by week to share with all of you on my blog. I like to say “food is how I spread joy” in this world.Read More

Honey Lemon Green Beans

Honey Lemon Green Beans

Riley loves fruits and vegetables. If you’re wondering “who is Riley?” the answer to your question is, my unborn very picky child. I am currently eight months pregnant and have plenty of vegetable cravings. Especially this delicious honey lemon green beans recipe I created on Valentine’s Day. I made a surf n’ turf type Valentine’s Day meal that called for a vegetable side dish of some sort. I bought green beans at the store earlier that day so I decided to “wing it” and throw some flavors together that complimented the dish. It was delicious and I’ve made this recipe multiple times since then simply because of how much I loved it.Read More

Asian BBQ Wings

February 7, 2017 Comments : 4

This past Superbowl Sunday I decided I wanted to whip up my own chicken wing recipe. I honestly had no idea what flavor I was going for beside it including some sort of barbecue sauce. Sweet Baby Ray’s to be exact. I walked into the kitchen, grabbed ingredients out of the fridge and off of my spice racks, then got to work. Once I grabbed the soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, and rice wine vinegar, I knew I was officially going for an Asian BBQ chicken wing theme. Read More
