November 2021 catch up

Hello everyone! It’s been two weeks since I’ve posted on the blog because it’s been a BUSY month. Between event planning, holiday duties, everyday responsibilities and self care, time has been flying. I decided to do an old school blog post. You know the throwback blog posts we loved to read where the author was simply sharing their everyday thoughts in long or short form. So I decided to make this November 2021 catch up post to, well, catch everyone up on my end.

Chicago Trip: April 2021

Chicago Trip: April 2021

I got the chance to go home and visit my Chicago family for the first time in over a year and a half. Out of everyone in my family the main focus of my trip was to see my Grandma. If you know me then you know I am the definition of a Grandma’s girl. She is my main girl. Going so long without seeing her was definitely the toughest part of this pandemic. However, as hard as it was to not see her, I am thankful for her continued health throughout this entire ordeal. I, unfortunately, know quite a few people who can not say the same regarding their loved ones this last year. Being able to give her a masked up huge hug multiple times is exactly what my soul needed.

Jordyn Is A 2nd Grader!

May 26, 2021 Comments : 2

Jordyn is a 2nd grader! We completed our first full year of virtual school, and although it had its challenges we made it through! I say we because being a teacher while also parenting a toddler isn’t the easiest job in the world LOL. However, as with everything, there were also pros like being able to wake up late. Jordyn could pick out her outfit to wear whatever we wanted. And we all we able to enjoy each other‘s company. Riley especially loved having Jordyn was home every day to play with and hang out. They are truly best friends and it’s adorable. Jordyn will be going back to school in person come fall and she’s looking forward to it as much as we are. I know she misses her friends and teachers.

Snowpocalypse 2021

Snowpocalypse 2021

To say the year 2021 has started off with a bang would be an understatement. If you’ve been keeping up with the winter storm that hit the south last weekend then you’ve seen the destruction it left behind. Living in the Shreveport, LA area ourselves means we were directly impacted by Snowpocalypse 2021 too. We lost water and power Wednesday evening. The power was out for about 16 hours which is MUCH better than what others have endured. We lost water from Wednesday evening to Saturday afternoon. And it’s only a few hours of water here and there.

2020 Celebrations + Lessons, 2021 Goals

January 4, 2021 Leave a Comment

We made it to the end of 2020 everyone! Whew. What an emotionally wild ride it has been. From the lowest of lows to some life changing highs, this year has been the year of immense growth. In all aspects of life. It has also been a year that has exposed more hard truths than I’ve ever experienced in my 32 years of life. I wanted to share my own personal 2020 celebrations and lessons in addition to my goals for 2021. Keeping these ideas and memories documented is important to me. I want to return to this post a year, 5 years, 10 years from now and see how I applied what I learned and how much more I’ve accomplished since.

Jamieson Christmas Photos 2020

December 24, 2020 Leave a Comment

I’ve been playing around with my camera these last few weeks trying to figure out the capabilities. This Christmas makes one year since I’ve had my Canon Rebel T6 and only three months I’ve had my 50mm “fifty nifty” Canon lens. I took some beautiful photos for my Merry Berry Christmosas earlier this month and decided to try my hand at Christmas photos of my girls. Although there are slight adjustments to be made, I couldn’t be happier with how the Jamieson Christmas Photos 2020 turned out!

Christmas Festivities & Fun 2020

December 14, 2020 Leave a Comment

This weekend was full of Christmas festivities and fun with some of our favorite people. We got to see the base chapel light up the huge Christmas tree on base. Where they served cookies, hot cider, hot cocoa, and other delicious treats afterwards. Of course makes required. Even for the smallest of interactions like Jordyn getting to run around with other kids for the first time in months. It felt nice to be in a place where everyone was masked up and doing their part during this awful pandemic. Here are a few pictures of us from that day.

DIY Kids Canvas Art

diy kids canvas art

I’ve been rearranging and remodeling the girls playroom area in the extra living room area. I’ll explain more and show more details once it’s complete. I can’t wait for the reveal! In the meantime, I’ve been working on ways to add original decor to the playroom. I have added a few cute little signs but I wanted the decor to be a direct reflection of the girls. This is when I came to the conclusion to hang the DIY kids canvas art they’ve already made, and create some new ones.Read More

5 Lessons Quarantine Taught Me

May 12, 2020 Comments : 4

Most of us have been in some form of quarantine, isolation, shelter-in-place, since the end of March due to Covid-19. It has been a learning experience to say the absolute least. A rollercoaster of emotions filled with a lot of questions. We’ve learned details about ourselves, families, jobs, neighbors, etc. Through all of the uncertainty quarantine 2020 taught me many valuable lessons. Lessons I’m going to carry with me forever.

August 6, 2019 Comments : 2

Happy first Tuesday of August! I decided to take an impromtu break from the blog for the month of July. I took some time to soak up the last few weeks of summer break for my daughter. As well as, to enjoy exploring this beautiful state of Louisiana with my family since we’re still new here. I also took some time to regroup and rethink my strategy for my brand and business going foward. I’m going to continue to share majority scrumptious recipes on here,Read More
