5 winter comfort food dishes

The new year is around the corner and everyone is going to be sharing advice for 2021. Well, my unsolicited advice is to get comfortable being inside for a few more months by finding joy in the small things; like dinner time. If you’re going to be stuck inside your home, your stomach should at least be full and happy, right? If there’s one thing 2020 has taught us it’s that life is short so enjoy the little things in life. Food on the table and a roof to cook it under is a great place to start. Crockpot Smoked Red Beans

If you’ve been to Louisiana then you know of the staple dishes they take seriously down here is their red beans and rice. Any authentic Cajun restaurant is guaranteed to have red beans and rice on the menu. Being a foodie means I’m always trying my best to recreate the authentic flavors in some of my favorite dishes. After having red beans and rice at one of my favorite local mom and pop restaurants in Bossier City, LA, I left determined to create a Crockpot Smoked Red Beans and rice dish that is equally delicious. Not only did I figure it out after two tries, being able to throw the ingredients in the crockpot and go is perfection.
