Chicago Trip: April 2021

I got the chance to go home and visit my Chicago family for the first time in over a year and a half. Out of everyone in my family the main focus of my trip was to see my Grandma. If you know me then you know I am the definition of a Grandma’s girl. She is my main girl. Going so long without seeing her was definitely the toughest part of this pandemic. However, as hard as it was to not see her, I am thankful for her continued health throughout this entire ordeal. I, unfortunately, know quite a few people who can not say the same regarding their loved ones this last year. Being able to give her a masked up huge hug multiple times is exactly what my soul needed.

Jordyn Is A 2nd Grader!

May 26, 2021 Comments : 2

Jordyn is a 2nd grader! We completed our first full year of virtual school, and although it had its challenges we made it through! I say we because being a teacher while also parenting a toddler isn’t the easiest job in the world LOL. However, as with everything, there were also pros like being able to wake up late. Jordyn could pick out her outfit to wear whatever we wanted. And we all we able to enjoy each other‘s company. Riley especially loved having Jordyn was home every day to play with and hang out. They are truly best friends and it’s adorable. Jordyn will be going back to school in person come fall and she’s looking forward to it as much as we are. I know she misses her friends and teachers.

Kitchen Decor & Details

kitchen decor & details

We’ve made it to the third Tuesday of the month which means another Transformation Tuesday is here. This week my transformation highlight in my home is the kitchen. Decorating a kitchen you can’t renovate from the bottom up can be difficult. This is why the kitchen decor and details matter in a space like this. Think of a color scheme you enjoy and try piecing together little details like the curtains to start.

kids playroom makeover

Happy transformation Tuesday everyone! If you missed last week’s post, for every Tuesday in the month of March, I’m sharing a new transformation area in my home. I kicked off last week with my entry way makeover. This week is dedicated to the kids playroom makeover project. I say project because it has been many months of finding the correct pieces and I still have a few more details to add. Overall, the playroom is 95% complete, and I couldn’t be happier with the result.

Entry Way Decor & Makeover

entry way decor and makeover

March is here which means spring is right around the corner! We’ve almost made it through winter which is quite impressive when you consider 2021 is trying to out-do 2020. Whew, what a time to be alive. I decided this year one of my personal goals was to concentrate on more home decor. I found myself filled with ideas for every room, but never actually putting the pieces together in reality. For the month of March I’m going to share transformation Tuesdays for different places in my home. One of the first blank spaces I transformed was our front entry way area. The pieces for my entry way decor and makeover perfectly fell in place once I got going. It was meant to be!

Snowpocalypse 2021

February 21, 2021 Comments : 2

Snowpocalypse 2021

To say the year 2021 has started off with a bang would be an understatement. If you’ve been keeping up with the winter storm that hit the south last weekend then you’ve seen the destruction it left behind. Living in the Shreveport, LA area ourselves means we were directly impacted by Snowpocalypse 2021 too. We lost water and power Wednesday evening. The power was out for about 16 hours which is MUCH better than what others have endured. We lost water from Wednesday evening to Saturday afternoon. And it’s only a few hours of water here and there.

Broccoli Cheddar Soup

We are in the heart of soup season in the Jamieson household. December through February is when we eat soup consistently. But if I’m being honest we eat soup year round. It’s just too good not to! One of our all time favorite soups is Broccoli Cheddar Soup. It’s one of my go to soups at restaurants when available. Not to mention this also happens to be my oldest daughter’s favorite soup which means she was quite excited about this recipe!

The Art of Pausing When Necessary

art of pausing when necessary

If you’re an avid follower of my blog you probably noticed I was MIA last week. Between decompressing from a month long vacation, inauguration 2021, and getting back into the swing of virtual school it was an exhausting week. I normally push through tiredness but I’m learning the art of pausing when necessary. Last week was a much needed pause and I’m feeling refreshed for the new quarter and year.
