We’re at the end of January and man has it been a crazy start to the year. I mean crazy in a good way because January 2022 goals & life events have started the year strong. From spending time with friends, crushing book goals, and volunteer work, it’s been fulfilling. I like to believe the way we start the year is a good sign for how the year will go. Here’s a quick catch up session on what’s happening in every day life as well as what’s to come!Read More
Jamieson Family Photos 2021
It’s been two years since the Jamieson clan took professional family pictures and I couldn’t be happier with the results! We used our favorite Shreveport, LA photographer Holly, at Holly J Photography. The outfits came together even better than I expected. Especially since I shopped for them less than 48 hours before the shoot. Eek! Talk about cutting it close. I love sharing the photos with you guys because you all support myself and my little family with so much love. Here are a handful of our Jamieson Family Photos 2021.Read More
Southern University Museum of Art at Shreveport
Three years ago while still living in Montana, I came across a section in Essence magazine that caught my eye. Two pages of guide to Black historical sites all over the state of Louisiana. This was perfect timing considering we knew Shreveport, Louisiana would be our next base assignment. I immediately searched the list for Shreveport locations and to my surprise found two of them. One of those locations is the Southern University Museum of Art at Shreveport. I finally had the opportunity to visit this museum last week in celebration of Black history month.Read More
Jamieson Family Vacation in Florida
We spent the 2020 holiday season in Florida with my father-in-law and my husband’s extended family. It was a much needed family vacation in Florida after spending most of the year at home. We usually travel at least 3 times a year. But Florida was our one and only trip for 2020 thanks to you know what. We decided to road trip instead of flying to travel safely around less people. The good news about not traveling all year my husband had PLENTY of vacation days saved up. We were able to stay for about a month. A month of family time, good food, belly laughs, and relaxation.Read More
Jamieson Christmas Photos 2020
I’ve been playing around with my camera these last few weeks trying to figure out the capabilities. This Christmas makes one year since I’ve had my Canon Rebel T6 and only three months I’ve had my 50mm “fifty nifty” Canon lens. I took some beautiful photos for my Merry Berry Christmosas earlier this month and decided to try my hand at Christmas photos of my girls. Although there are slight adjustments to be made, I couldn’t be happier with how the Jamieson Christmas Photos 2020 turned out!Read More
5 Year Anniversary
Happy 5 year anniversary to us! On this day five years ago my husband and I said “I do”. Here we are two baby girls later and still finding ways to connection with one another. We often talk about how well we work because we’re a team. With each passing day and year we are able to go to the drawing board and be better than we were before.
This year will consist of so many changes for our family. Great changes but plenty of them. The biggest change of all: waiting for our second baby girl to make her entrance into this world. Unfortunately, this is the first wedding anniversary we will spend apart. Considering we’re a military family we should be counting our blessings that this is the first anniversary we’re spending away from one another. But it doesn’t make it any easier. Especially when I’d love to simply be in the presence of my favorite human being.Read More
"Say It Loud: I'm Black & I'm Proud"
Today is, February 28th, which means it’s the last official day of Black History Month. Although Black history should be celebrated every day, I always love dedicating an entire month specifically to, Black excellence. We are truly magical people, and I always look forward to learning about my history, as well as, educating others on Black history. Read More
4 Years: 1,461 Days
Today the husband and I have been married for exactly 4 years. You know how people always talk about time flying? Yeah, this is one of those moments. The craziest part about this being our four-year anniversary is how much can change in only a matter of four years. To think of the two 23 year olds who got married in that church in, Evanston, IL four years ago, compared to the parents knocking on 30’s door year olds we are today…a lot has changed.Read More

3 Years Down: Forever To Go
Three years ago, today, my husband and I said “I do”. This won’t be a super long mushy post, but I wanted to be sure I share with all of you how much fun it is to love someone you’ve been with for almost ten years, more and more, with each passing day. Even when I don’t like him I’ve learned to love him more, because I know it’ll just be another bump in the road that although it takes longer to get to the destination, I get to travel the longer bumpy road with my best friend.
We have had many people tell us how much they admire us and it truly puts the biggest smiles on our faces. We smile because there is no way to explain the happiness you feel knowing you’re inspiring others by genuinely and simply being in love with your best friend. Life doesn’t get much better than that, right?
Today, and everyday, I am thankful to be Mrs. Jamieson. Happy anniversary baby! I love you forever and ever.
