To say the year 2021 has started off with a bang would be an understatement. If you’ve been keeping up with the winter storm that hit the south last weekend then you’ve seen the destruction it left behind. Living in the Shreveport, LA area ourselves means we were directly impacted by Snowpocalypse 2021 too. We lost water and power Wednesday evening. The power was out for about 16 hours which is MUCH better than what others have endured. We lost water from Wednesday evening to Saturday afternoon. And it’s only a few hours of water here and there.

Even with our own struggles we couldn’t stop thinking about everyone in Texas going through much worse. Having to go days and at this rate a week or more without power AND water in many places is heartbreaking.

To top it all off we have friends in town visiting us from California right before Snowpocalypse 2021 began. It was supposed to be a trip filled with favorite food tours and outdoor activities. Instead it turned into being stuck in the house, rotating crockpot and frozen meals, and shoveling snow. But in all of the unplanned craziness and uncertainty we made the best of the situation. We played plenty of games, watched movies, started new tv shows, and cracked each other up. If you want to know exactly how much you like or love your friends, get snowed in together and see if you’re still friends at the end LOL.

Snowpocalypse 2021 Memories:
But in all seriousness, I’m thankful to have been stuck with the crew we had. Instead of harping on what we didn’t have we tried to remind ourselves what we do have. Here’s some pictures of this memorable time. I can’t wait to share these stories with the little ones when they’re older.

Love you all so much!
