November 2021 Catch Up

November 2021 catch up

Hello everyone! It’s been two weeks since I’ve posted on the blog because it’s been a BUSY month. Between event planning, holiday duties, everyday responsibilities and self care, time has been flying. I decided to do an old school blog post. You know the throwback blog posts we loved to read where the author was simply sharing their everyday thoughts in long or short form. So I decided to make this November 2021 catch up post to, well, catch everyone up on my end.

Over the summer my friend Morgan and I started a group called “Black Women of Barksdale”. We started it as a way for the Black women on base to be heard and represented especially when other avenues weren’t serving this purpose. The last few weeks have been spent planning and executing events for the ladies in our group. We had a successful wine and cheese night last week. I have to brag on Morgan and I’s execution of the wine and cheese night because everything came together so beautifully. And my book club read a fun pick for November called Seven Days in June by Tia Williams.

We held our 2nd annual “Wingsgiving” last weekend with our friends and it was even better than last year. Every single wing flavor was delicious and the company was enjoyable as always. We ate, laughed tons, and ended the evening around the fire with great conversation.

Thanksgiving as you all know is tomorrow. This year will be the first Thanksgiving in many years it will be a small gathering at our home. Y’all know I love cooking for people and sharing my home so this feels a little strange. However, I’m not too upset about not having to cook three times the amount of food LOL. Plus, we’ll have a house full of family for Christmas so this gives us time to prepare for their visit.

Simple Self Care:

November has been a great month of self care in the aspect of doing what makes me happy. I decorated for Christmas the first week of November because I love Christmas. The outside of our home is lit up so bright the neighbors complimented my work. I’m even more proud of myself for getting up on the ladder and doing the work myself! I’ll share a reel and Tik Tok video of our indoor and outdoor decor on December first. Be sure to check back for those details. Here’s a picture of Jordyn and Riley where you can see a little of the indoor holiday cheer.

Christmas 2021

My original book goal for 2021 was 10 books. I reached that goal in June of this year. I’m currently reading book number 19 and hoping to double my goal by the end of December. Better believe there will be another blog post to share the most recent 10 books with all of you.

I’ve started re-watching the tv series Army Wives again this month. This may sound so simple but rewatching my favorite tv series always brings me joy. I haven’t seen the series since I was freshly out of college. Let’s just say being a military wife makes the connection to this show even stronger the second time around.

I hope you’ve all had a great November so far. As you can read from my November 2021 catch up it’s been an eventful one for me. I pray you all have a blessed Thanksgiving with the people you love the most. And I will be back with new content and recipes next week. I’m excited for you all to see what I have in store to finish out the year strong! Happy November everyone!
