If you weren’t able to tell by the cover photo of this blog post, Jordyn Denise, is still very much so a little person filled with enormous personality. LOL. Jordyn is 2 years and 3 months old, today. Or as she likes to tell people when they ask her how old she is: “I’m five.” Yes, our two year old daughter is already lying about her age. Don’t worry, Kris and I have taken notice, and will keep a close eye on this in the future. Hahaha.
As you all know, children, especially toddlers, change every single day. From the amount of words they learn and add to their memory bank, to their growing independence, it’s almost hard to keep up with them as an adult. It’s still the most exciting yet exhausting ride I’ve ever been on. I love every second of it.
Jordyn’s favorite books to read are: Corduroy, Five Little Monkeys Jumping On The Bed, Go Dog Go, and Mr. Brown Can Moo Can You? She likes to read Five Little Monkeys Jumping On The Bed to us, and she has it down word for word. You would think she can actually read as well as she has memorized the book. Makes me so happy and proud. Her favorite television show to watch is Daniel Tiger and her favorite movies are the Toy Story movies, or “Woody” as she calls them. She would watch both of these allllll day long if you let her! Thankfully, my husband and I loooove the Toy Story movies as well. Daniel Tiger…not so much -_-. She still loves the song “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars. Unfortunately, the one part of the song she knows very well is when they yell “hot damn!” LMAO. We’re working on making her think they say something other than “damn”.
Some funny Jordyn-isms are: she calls arm pits “arm tits”, bread of any sort is “sammich”, and when her feet are not covered with her blanket she says “uh-oh feet! Uh-oh feet!” until someone covers her feet for her LOL. Whenever you change her clothes she looks down at herself and says “so cute!” It doesn’t matter if it’s a white Gerber t-shirt or a sleeper, she must tell you how cute she looks.
Her growing independence has branched out to her helping around the house more often. She loves to let Ares in and out of his room and the backyard. She likes to ask us “Ares come inside? or “Ares go to he room? ” When I throw the dirty laundry downstairs to be washed, Jordyn, picks the clothes up and puts them on the laundry room counter for me to separate them. When we unload the dishwasher she hands us the dishes to put away, and when I go grocery shopping she helps me bring the bags in. She is my awesome little helper. She also eats at the kitchen table with us vs her high chair because she didn’t like not feeling a part of the family at dinner time.
Sometimes it’s so hard to believe I have a little person who is blossoming into the most beautiful and kindhearted spirit I’ve ever met. I’ve had people tell me on multiple occasions while running errands that meeting Jordyn was a blessing in their lives. I don’t take those compliments for granted because she really is the greatest blessing I’ve ever received.
I will be back in a few months to give another update on Miss Jordyn Denise. Until then, we hope you all have a great Sunday evening and wonderful upcoming week!
