Hidden Clubhouse Remodel

This past Christmas I asked family to buy more experiences vs. toys for the girls. I provided them with a list of places like movie theater passes, local science museum or aquarium memberships, etc. However, I remembered my husband and I had discussed turning the coat closet underneath the stairs into a little hidden clubhouse for the girls. Or the “Harry Potter” closet as we like to call it. After a few weeks of brainstorming color schemes and set up I had settled on the kids hidden playroom remodel.

My husband then suggested we ask our family members to buy the pieces for the hidden clubhouse as Christmas gifts for the girls. Talk about a win-win! So collectively they all bought the pieces necessary to make this little clubhouse for the girls. Even the colors for the pieces matched up perfectly being different brands. I think I may love this little hidden clubhouse more than them some days. Ha!

Kris and I realized how much the girls love hiding out in the kitchen pantry, with the door closed, and light up toys for a disco effect. We also understand living in Louisiana comes with the reality of tornado warnings and watches during rainy season. Which means this hidden clubhouse can serve as a tornado shelter too. The cube divider and picture on the wall are easily removable if necessary. Comfy chairs for playtime and shelter. Can’t complain about it at all.

The girls go in there to hang out and play, read books, watch movies or have dance parties with the music on the iPad. We still have to add a few little details and items to add for decor, but the clubhouse is about 95% done.
I hope the girls continue to love this space, that it makes them feel safe, and most importantly continues to strengthen their bond with many laughs in this clubhouse. Sometimes it really is the simplest of things that brings us so much happiness.

Where To Buy?

Below I will post links to the items in the pictures. Just click on the item name.
