We’re in full swing of back to school season over here. Part of back to school season means cute but effective natural hairstyles for Black girls. If you are familiar with the effort put into natural hair then you know kids with heads full of hair like my Jordyn’s can be time consuming to maintain. This is why I want to share 6 Natural Hairstyles for Kids I style on Jordyn regularly. This not helps to keep her hair healthy and in protected hairstyles, but allows us to have fun with her hair throughout the week.

If you’ve been following me for a little while you have probably noticed Jordyn’s hair is always parted in the same four sections with another 4 parts per section. I do this for multiple reasons. My husband is able to wash her hair thoroughly when her hair is parted this way. Jordyn is VERY tender-headed which means these smaller parts make it much easier to comb through. Whether I use braids or twists the style looks good for at least a week. And lastly I’m able to create so many fun styles like these 6 Natural Hairstyles for kids with the foundation of these sectioned braids/twists. For the examples below her hair is in twists, but you can feel free to use braids if you prefer!
All Down:

You can go wrong with the classic all down style. Especially after the fresh wash and hairstyle.
Half Up – Half Down:

This is our go to because it’s a classic favorite and perfect for when you’re in a rush.
Bantu Knots:

I absolutely love this creative twist on bantu knots. It’s such a fun and unique style.
Two Buns:

The two buns look is Jordyn’s personal favorite style. I have to agree with her because look at how cute!
Half Twist – Half Down:

This is a fun play on the half up half down style. You just twist the top half across to switch it up.
All Up Bun:

You can never go wrong with a classic bun. It’s the perfect style for dressing up any outfit.
