The new year is around the corner and everyone is going to be sharing advice for 2021. Well, my unsolicited advice is to get comfortable being inside for a few more months by finding joy in the small things; like dinner time. If you’re going to be stuck inside your home, your stomach should at least be full and happy, right? If there’s one thing 2020 has taught us it’s that life is short so enjoy the little things in life. Food on the table and a roof to cook it under is a great place to start. This round up of my favorite 5 Winter Comfort Food Dishes is perfect for the cold weather and to switch up the usual dinner ideas you’ve been making since March.

Although we tend to stay inside during the winter months anyway doing so after having been inside for almost a year is A LOT. Especially for those who are naturally outing extroverted people. One way I have coped and found joy these last few months has been through cooking. Making and sharing these dishes with you all has not only been therapeutic, but the great reviews you all have shared with me has made it joyful. This is why I decided to do a round up for my followers and I’s favorite comfort dishes. These 5 winter comfort food dishes are home cooked dishes that warm up your body and soul. Feel free to share your favorites in the comments or future recipes you’d like to see on the blog!
Chicken Noodle Soup

This chicken noodle soup is always a favorite for its easiness and deliciousness. Made with fresh ingredients, seasoned perfectly, and filled with chicken breast pieces. Who doesn’t love a cozy homemade bowl of chicken soup on a cold winter day?
Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

This dish is a week night family favorite of ours. It’s quick, homemade, and is an easy crowd pleaser if dealing with a picky family. This sauce also freezes well and the cost of the ingredients compared to the amount is cheaper than a pre-made jar from the grocery store.
Stovetop Mac & Three Cheese

Although baked mac and cheese is my all time favorite don’t forget about stovetop Mac and cheese. Made with some of my favorite cheeses and cooks in less than 30 minutes. One of my favorite parts of stovetop Mac is the customization. Add whatever cheeses, meats, and/or vegetables you like!
5 Cheese & Meat Lasagna

This is one of my family’s top favorite meals. From my little immediate family to our extended family, this is a highly requested dinner. Although this recipe takes more time and love to make it’s worth every second. Not to mention, it can last for two nights of dinner for a family of 4.
Cajun Chicken & Shrimp Alfredo

Last but not least is this homemade Alfredo dish. There is just something about a homemade Alfredo sauce that puts it in its own league. The marinade on the shrimp and the seasoning on the chicken takes this to another level. Oh, and I highly recommend roasted broccoli as a side dish.
