September 27th, 1988 is the day and year a star was born.
OK, now that I got that out of the way I can be serious now hahaha.
Today is my 30th birthday and I couldn’t be more grateful or full of love. I’m grateful to have made it to see the age of 30. There are many who never did, or will, and for this I am forever thankful each year God allows me to grow a year older.
I decided to take a break from blogging earlier this year due to my pregnancy. It was an exhausting pregnancy and I struggled with staying awake the entire day let alone run a blog in the process. I’ve had plenty of time to plan and have some quality blog posts coming your way soon. From recipes to personal stories to DIY projects. They’re all coming soon.
This year, more specifically, last few months have been a whirlwind to say the least. I gave birth to my beautiful second daughter named, Riley Naomie, in April.
The husband left for another six week commitment over the summer. My youngest sister, Maya, spent the summer with the girls and I, and we got to celebrate her 18th birthday here in Montana. We’ve traveled to California and Chicago. We expanded our family (again) a month ago by adding two, four legged, fur babies to the crew. (They are German Wirehaired Labradors and we named them, Apollo and Chronos). We will be in Chicago next month for a friend’s wedding and my 30th birthday party. And there is still plenty of time left in the year for even more changes. For now, I think I have caught you all up on the major events that have happened in our lives.
Turning 30 years old this year made me want to do something out of the ordinary to signify this milestone. I wrote a list about what I would like to do and who I want to be in my 30’s. My list centered around caring for myself emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. While learning to give more of myself to others to spend more time on experiences instead of things. I also realize that my 30’s will be the most crucial parts of my daughter’s lives for them to see and be the examples we expect of them. We are our children’s first teachers so whatever I want Jordyn and Riley to learn needs to be demonstrated by us first.
This lead me to the list of “30 Gifts for 30 Years”. I wrote down 30 “gifts” I could do or give to others to complete by my birthday. Today, I will fulfill the last item on my list when I do the gift card giveaway on my Instagram account on IG live at 4pm MST. Feel free to enter the drawing before then and try to win a $20 gift card to Bath & Bodyworks 🙂
Here is my personal and official “30 Gifts for 30 Years” list for this birthday:
This was such a fun challenge. Forcing yourself to concentrate on giving to others serves as a great example of not taking anyone or anything for granted. It’s a great feeling and really puts life into perspective.
I’m looking forward to what the age of 30 will bring me and my family. I look forward to this decade and can’t wait to see what it has in store for me.
This list is what fits my lifestyle and every day life surroundings. What items would you put on your own giving list? Feel free to share below!
