SKIPPY® Peanut Butter Squeeze Pack

It may be September, but we are still adjusting life to the changes of this year. One of the main changes for me has been not being able to go to the gym. I had officially gotten into a routine last year and was doing well at the beginning of this year. Since gyms were out of the equation for a while I picked up bike riding for an outdoor workout. It had been a while since I last rode my bike and I forgot how much of an appetite you build up while riding.Read More

Cajun Chicken & Shrimp Alfredo

cajun chicken and shrimp alfredo

Hello September and hello comfort food season! If you’re anything like me you’ve been waiting for fall to get here since the beginning of summer. I’m not joking either. I may be slightly addicted to fall and the holiday season. So when I say I’ve been counting down I definitely mean it! One of my favorite parts of fall is the comfort food. This is the time everyone pulls out their favorite homemade soups, traditional family recipes, and the recipes we enjoy without looking at the calorie count. This Cajun Chicken and Shrimp Alfredo recipe is one of those “don’t count the calories or fat” type of recipes. But that’s how you know it tastes delicious, right?Read More

The night I heard about Chadwick’s passing I legit felt like I had been punched in the stomach. My initial thought when my husband read the news out loud was that it was fake. There was NO WAY Chadwick Boseman was gone from this life. It felt like a blindside wrapped up in a language I couldn’t understand. If I’m being completely honest, I still can’t believe Chadwick is gone. It doesn’t sound right to say or read of him in pass tense. The man who seemed like a real life superhero is gone. As Ryan Coogler stated “Chad is an ancestor” now. Damn, man.Read More

Back to school season is here and that means it’s time to get back to creative but resourceful lunch and snack mode. Like most school aged kids, Jordyn starts school later this month. And like all kids, she enjoys a delicious snack or three. One of my go to snack choices for her are Entenmann’s Little Bites® Chocolate Chip Muffins and Entenmann’s Little Bites® Party Cake Muffins. Entenmann’s Little Bites® snacks provide the delicious taste kids love and the good choice parents want – all together in the same convenient, on-the-go snack!Read More

Jordyn’s Virtual School Corner

August 19, 2020 Comments : 2

jordyn's virtual school corner

Tomorrow begins the start of the new school year for Jordyn. I have a first grader, and I’m still in disbelief about how fast times flies. They say it goes fast when you’re having fun, but it goes fast when you’re living everyday life. As most parents or guardians of school aged children know, this year is VERY different for one reason: Covid-19. Instead of doing the hybrid school model we opted to keep Jordyn home for 100% virtual schooling. While figuring out where she will sit to concentrate during school hours I decided to make the corner in our dining room Jordyn’s virtual school corner. To give her some sense of separation between school and home. She loves the way it looks! I hope she enjoys it throughout the school year too.Read More

Crab Boil & Garlic Butter Sauce

August 4, 2020 Comments : 2

We made it to August 2020! It’s the last month of summer time in my household because I’m one of those people who decorates for Fall on September 1st. Whatever, don’t judge me. Anyway, one of the favorite meals down here in Louisiana during summer time is a good seafood boil. However, in my family, we love a good ole crab boil. There are few things that make our hearts and bellies as happy as a homemade crab boil and garlic butter sauce.Read More

DIY Kids Canvas Art

diy kids canvas art

I’ve been rearranging and remodeling the girls playroom area in the extra living room area. I’ll explain more and show more details once it’s complete. I can’t wait for the reveal! In the meantime, I’ve been working on ways to add original decor to the playroom. I have added a few cute little signs but I wanted the decor to be a direct reflection of the girls. This is when I came to the conclusion to hang the DIY kids canvas art they’ve already made, and create some new ones.Read More

Tropical Fruit Salad

July 22, 2020 Leave a Comment

We’re about 75% through July which means here in Louisiana we’re in dangerous hot territory. The type of hot where the walk from the store to your car feels like it’s 3 miles long. No, I’m not exaggerating either. When it’s this hot out snacks that keep us cool is a must have on hand in the fridge. Or course the go to snacks for my kids are usually popsicles and ice cream. But for my husband and I we attempt to grab healthier snacks when we can. This tropical fruit salad has been a favorite of mine for a long time, but more importantly in this brutal Louisiana heat!Read More

Peach Ginger Mojito

July 14, 2020 Leave a Comment

Here we are, 7 months into the year 2020, and I’m sharing homemade cocktail recipes because COVID-19 still has the local bars closed. Well, a few of them opened for about 2 days, then Covid-19 numbers spiked and they were closed again. Sigh. Anywho, even if the bars were open, who doesn’t love a good homemade cocktail recipe? Not only are you in the comfort and safeness of your own home, but it’s cost efficient too. This delicious Peach Ginger Mojito recipe only requires 6 ingredients! Yes, SIX. So it’s not overly complicated which means you can impress company or yourself without a hassle.Read More
