Jamaican Steamed Cabbage

June 23, 2020 Comments : 8

Caribbean food is my favorite food. Specially authentic Belizean and Jamaican foods. I would say my biased lies in the fact that I’m Belizean on my mother’s side and Jamaican on my father’s side. But if you’ve ever eaten a traditional Belizean or Jamaican dish you more than likely agree with me. One of my favorite sides to prepare with my authentic Jamaican dishes is Jamaican steamed cabbage. It pairs perfectly with most Jamaican dishes if I’m honest.Read More

Traffic Secrets

This is a sponsored ad for the Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers.

I’ve spent the last few weeks reading Russell Brunson’s book called, Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers. As an influencer this book was a great way to learn how to refocus my attention and business on what is necessary to create and run a successful business. The biggest problem that most entrepreneurs have isn’t creating an amazing product or service; it’s getting their future customers to discover that they even exist. Every year, tens of thousands of businesses start and fail because the entrepreneurs don’t understand this one essential skill: the art and science of getting consumers to find you.Read More

June is the official month of summer. Although it’s felt like summertime many days here in Louisiana the last few weeks, the first day of summer is June 20th. Spice Cabinet Organization

May 26, 2020 Leave a Comment

I’ve been a busy bee during this quarantine by starting and/or finishing projects around the house. It’s actually been one of my favorite parts of being home because I don’t have the distractions or excuses to not finish them. One of my pride and joys of my kitchen is my spice cabinet. I take pride in knowing I can make almost any dish because I have the necessary spices to do so. Naturally, spice cabinet organization has been at the top of my to-do list for years now.Read More

5 Lessons Quarantine Taught Me

May 12, 2020 Comments : 4

Most of us have been in some form of quarantine, isolation, shelter-in-place, since the end of March due to Covid-19. It has been a learning experience to say the absolute least. A rollercoaster of emotions filled with a lot of questions. We’ve learned details about ourselves, families, jobs, neighbors, etc. Through all of the uncertainty quarantine 2020 taught me many valuable lessons. Lessons I’m going to carry with me forever.

Whole Roasted Chicken & Veggies

April 28, 2020 Leave a Comment

May is right around the corner and depending on where you live this could mean a few things. Some people are looking out their windows to see cloudy skies and rainy days like us here in Louisiana. Others are seeing random snow days followed by spring sunshine like those in the Midwest or Rocky Mountain north. No matter where you are, or what type of weather you’re experiencing, the one food most of us can agree on for dinner is chicken. Most of us love a good, flavorful, chicken dish anytime of the day, but especially for dinner. This Whole Roasted Chicken and Veggies meal is one of my family’s favorites. The juicy chicken, tender vegetables, and beautiful presentation is the perfect combination.Read More

Juneteenth Cookout Takeover

I’m participating in the 2020 Juneteenth Cookout Takeover. The Juneteenth Cookout Takeover was created to virtually contribute to the celebration of Juneteenth by highlighting various recipes of traditional Black foods from Black creatives and foodies. Juneteenth, a merge of the words/date June Nineteenth, is a holiday to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States of America.

For over 150 years, Black Americans and those of the African diaspora, have celebrated the summer holiday with a wide range of food and cultural traditions to share of the perseverance of our ancestors through storytelling.

Clicklist Kroger grocery pickup

*This is not an ad. All opinions are solely my own.*

Have you personally ventured into the wonderful world of grocery pick up yet? I used Kroger’s grocery pickup for the first time two weeks ago. I know, I know, how can I be so late to the grocery pick up party, right? I’m a late bloomer. Sue me. But man oh man am I happy I gave it a try! I’ve done two full scale grocery pickups so far and I have already learned that doing grocery pickup actually save me money. Convenient and cost effective. Talk about a win-win! With the spread of COVID-19 this last week grocery pickup has been a huge help in following directions to “social distance” ourselves. Read More

Hidden Clubhouse Remodel

February 19, 2020 Leave a Comment

hidden clubhouse remodel decor

This past Christmas I asked family to buy more experiences vs. toys for the girls. I provided them with a list of places like movie theater passes, local science museum or aquarium memberships, etc. However, I remembered my husband and I had discussed turning the coat closet underneath the stairs into a little hidden clubhouse for the girls. Or the “Harry Potter” closet as we like to call it. After a few weeks of brainstorming color schemes and set up I had settled on the kids hidden playroom remodel.
